Volunteering at McKinney Public Library Finale Fest Event on August 3rd 2024

On the morning of August 3rd, 2024, AYLUS members gathered at the McKinney Public Library for the McKinney Library Grand Finale event. During the event, volunteers were tasked to do face painting, make and sell balloon art, sell handmade gemstone bracelets, sell jewelry, and promote AYLUS. Before the event started, volunteers were split into groups, each with their own group of tasks to complete. Some volunteers were tasked with doing face painting for various members of the community. Other members were tasked with selling the jewelry by advocating for AYLUS. Yet another group of volunteers was tasked with the creation and selling of balloon art. Although many volunteers did not originally know how to create balloon art, through this event, many members gained insight and experience in the process. As a result, many volunteers now know how to create a variety of balloon art and can put these skills to use in future AYLUS events. Overall, all the volunteers were given chances to help serve the community, and fundraised for the African Libraries project in the process. In conclusion, this event was a huge success.
