On August 2nd, 2025, four AYLUS volunteers took time out of their evenings to participate in a Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) packing event. Volunteers were given hairnets and listened to an informational and instructional presentation by the FMSC staff members. Promptly after the introduction, volunteers were divided into different job categories: packing, labeling, and warehouse. We made sure to exercise appropriate hygiene and packing rules. In this session, all AYLUS volunteers present took part in the packing process, with each member working different stations. FMSC is an independent organization, so our volunteers worked in tandem with volunteers from other groups to pack meals for underserved communities. Each ‘MannaPack’ meal contained vitamins, vegetables, soy, and rice to cover one’s daily nutritional needs. During the session, volunteers participated in various friendly competitions and challenges. After the packing process, we helped to tidy up the area and had an optional prayer over the packed boxes. In total, we helped contribute 81 boxes of 36 meal packs to be sent to underserved children in the Dominican Republic. Thank you to all volunteers who participated in this event!
