On Saturday, August 23rd, 7 AYLUS volunteers set up our fundraising stand at Russell Creek park. Today we were selling cotton candy, shaved ice, iced water, and our handmade gemstones bracelets as well as rings. Volunteers split themselves into the following roles: making cotton candy, making shaved ice, cashier, and advertising. The advertising team would go out and encourage people to check out the stand, while the others stayed behind to work at making the items listed. This method was super effective because everyone worked hard to make it into a success! Walking around the park, you could see adults and children alike enjoying our shaved ice and cotton candy! Shaved ice was especially popular, considering the heat that day. Starting at 6:30 PM and ending at 8:30 PM, we ended up raising over 100 dollars for the Children’s Medical Center in Plano!
