On the afternoon of October 4, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., our amazing AYLUS volunteers from Frisco and Plano participated in the McKinney Asian Food Festival. The event celebrated Asian culture and food, and had a variety of vendors and different cultural performances. It was a nice day, not too hot, perfect for such an event.
Our booth was located in a great spot where many visitors passed by. After arriving, we set up our space to make it tidy and organized. In addition to offering face painting and balloon art, we sold bracelets, rings, necklaces, and adorable crochet items.
I stood outside the booth to greet people and encourage them to stop by and support us. Meanwhile, Yuhe and Zhuoran held our sign and walked around to promote our booth when there were no face painting clients. Thanks to everyone’s effort, many people stopped to enjoy face painting, balloon art for their kids, and to purchase handmade jewelry. Some kind visitors even donated after learning that we were fundraising for the Children’s Hospital.
Before our shift ended, we gathered for a brief meeting to share ideas for new items to sell and suggestions for future events. At 5 p.m., we took a group photo and listened as the lead parent congratulated us on raising over $100 and praised our hard work.
A big thank-you to all our dedicated volunteers for your time and hard work! The volunteers are
