On October 12th, 7 AYLUS volunteers helped make cotton candy and balloons to a pre-paid birthday party from 6:00PM-8:00 PM. Three volunteers did cotton candy, four did balloons. The kids loved it! For the cotton candy, kids experimented with multiple flavors—going back even twice or thrice for more! Even parents got some. Although, faced with choice paralysis, they always asked for ‘the most popular’ flavor… which would be blue raspberry, the long-time favorite for its vibrancy in color and flavor. As for the balloons, the kids requested them the same two shapes which referenced an Internet meme. They were overjoyed and took several pictures with them. For the birthday girl, they also made flowers and a heart balloon! The two new volunteers started to become more confident in their cotton candy-making through practicing at this event. The volunteers were also treated to the leftover dinner and birthday cake for their hard work! Great job, volunteers!
