On January 26, 2025, we participated in a memorable volunteer event—a dragon dance performance. This was part of the Spring Festival Gala organized by the Henan Association of Dallas, held at the Art Performance Center of McKinney High School. Many residents came to watch, and everyone enjoyed the show, especially the children.
In the afternoon, we arrived at the center and rehearsed with the student team. The dragon dance is a traditional Chinese performance to celebrate the arrival of the Lunar New Year, and people were excited to see it.
During the official performance in the evening, accompanied by the lively dragon dance music, we held the golden dragon head and went on stage with my teammates. Just like our performance in 2024, we lifted the enormous red and gold dragon on stage. The audience responded with enthusiastic applause.
After our performance, we happily sat in the audience and enjoyed the other wonderful and diverse programs. we spent the day immersed in the joyful atmosphere of celebrating the traditional Chinese New Year, making it an unforgettable experience. As an 11th-grade student participating in the performance, we will always remember this special event—it was truly a fantastic day.
